Assistant Director Strategic Governance and Policy
IPA are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director Strategic Governance and Policy. The position leads a team delivering a diverse range of work functions, including strategic planning and governance, facilitating the strategic and operational risk direction of the Authority, key collaborative programs such as ministerial and parliamentary functions, corporate plan, audit requirements and broad program management.
You will effectively lead and coordinate strategic priorities through the key policies and strategies whilst providing high-level support and advice to the Board, Executive Management Group and across the Department.
As the Assistant Director you will:

Support the Director to develop and deliver strategic direction and by managing, aligning and coordinating strategic governance functions, through the coordination and implementation of strategies and partnerships.
Provide direction and leadership to a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment to deliver high quality outcomes, meet deadlines and achieve organisational goals.
Coordinate and prepare complex high quality advice, reports and written material that is timely, practical, transparent and risk-based to key stakeholders including the Executive Management Group, other government agencies and the Minister.
Develop and maintain productive working relationships and partnerships including working collaboratively and persuasively with stakeholders, developing and maintaining productive relationships, and working with service providers, ministerial officers, executives and other federal government and state agencies.
Oversee and support the delivery of key deliverables including management of ministerial and parliamentary functions, corporate plan, agency wide risk and audit requirements, as well as Secretariat support for the strategic governance functions.
A minimum of five years' experience in public sector administration.
Have demonstrated experience in leading and managing a diverse team with competing priorities and complexity.
Desirable qualifications or equivalent experience:
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience in a marine or environmental field.
