About the role

At Grant Thornton our audit process is more than a compliance measure, it is a business improvement tool that identifies and resolves critical issues and adds value to our clients.

We are looking for an Associate to join our Audit & Assurance team in a full-time role in our Sydney office. You will gain a range of assurance exposure including:

  • Independent statutory audit of the financial reports of a wide variety of entities including public listed and unlisted companies, proprietary companies, incorporated associations and other not-for-profit entities and government bodies
  • Preparation of complete and accurate audit work papers
  • Liaison with our Tax Consulting division regarding more audit related tax issues
  • Communication with clients through various platforms

Skills and experience

You’ll be agile, responsive and able to bring your experience and external audit skills to our team. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • 2 years’ experience in Audit & Assurance ideally in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm
  • Tertiary qualified in accounting or finance
  • Studying towards CA/CPA Qualification
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong communication skills

The minimum annual salary for this role will be $69,000 inclusive of superannuation, commensurate with experience.
