At KPMG Forensic we bring together technical and subject matter experts from a range of areas to help clients prevent or reduce reputational risk, investigate and remediate issues. Our team includes forensic accountants, investigators, data analysts, remediation specialists, forensic technology practitioners and financial crime professionals (just to name a few). We have an opportunity an Associate Director / Senior Manager to assist us on our large remediation projects. In this space we work side by side with our clients to identify, investigate and remediate customers impacted by a variety of historic incidents and issues. Your role will include:
Investigating the extent of a historic issue faced by our clients – how did it occur? Which customers are impacted in terms of products? Which systems maintain the records we need to identify who was impacted and by how much?
Quantifying the impact to in-scope customers and adding time value of money and compensatory interest
Designing an approach to the remediation where the necessary information is missing or incomplete
Working with our data analytics teams who run scripts over financial services systems to identify impacted customers and assess financial impact.
Running client working group meetings to obtain endorsement for our remediation approach including product, legal and compliance.
Reporting on the investigative activities, endorsed decisions and remediation findings.
In this role, you will get to work with leading global organizations, as well as various teams within KPMG including Management Consulting, Digital Delta, Actuarial and KPMG Law to name a few.
Your qualifications, skills & experience could include:
7+ years of relevant experience – this may be as an accountant in external audit, internal audit, forensic or in financial services as a business analyst or in customer remediation. Note remediation experience is not essential – we can train you on the job.
Financial Services experience preferred.
Experience leading small teams, including task assignment and quality review.
Be a critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills – who can ingest and make sense of complex information and determine appropriate next steps to bring a matter to resolution.
Will oversee the drafting of clear and concise reports recording assumptions, decisions, methodology and results.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and have an ability to interpret findings and identify key insights.
Will provide on the job training and mentoring to junior staff, and contribute to team networking, innovation and thought leadership publications.
