Join our Credit Risk team, the independent risk management team of Banking and Financial Services, and enjoy playing a key role in evolving our approach to collateral risk management and valuations across our Home Loans, Asset Finance and Business Banking products.

You will join a team that owns and manages credit risk across our Home Loan, Asset Finance and Small Business lending products. Your focus will be on the Collateral Management (residential property, motor vehicle, commercial property) aspects of these products, working in collaboration with the Personal & Business Banking ecosystem, including product, sales, operations, and technology to enhance our credit risk management.

You will ensure our valuation settings remain appropriate to enable faster credit decisions, and more application lodged with valuation already complete and drive and uplift valuation/collateral education and processes for Credit Analysts and Support Officers, Macquarie BDM’s and external Brokers/Introducers across Home Loans, Asset Finance, and property-backed lending in Business Banking.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Driving and providing SME input for valuation/collateral policy changes and hindsighting across Home Loans, Asset Finance, and property-backed lending in Business Banking
  • Managing and decisioning escalations for credit applications involving exceptions based on the security and/or the valuations
  • Panel management/vendor manager for valuer relationships across Home Loans, Asset Finance, and property-backed lending in Business Banking
  • Representing Macquarie in relevant industry forums
  • Driving establishment of appropriate oversight forums, and ensuring regulatory obligations are met

For you to be successful in this role you will need to be degree qualified with a solid experience in a risk-based role, preferably in the financial services sector, with experience in property valuations and ideally holding qualifications as a residential property valuer. Knowledge of valuations for commercial property and motor vehicles is highly regarded.

You will also need to bring proven experience with data analysis and visualisation tools Tableau and managing external vendors and valuer panels. Your excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder management and negotiations skills and ability to multi-task and be flexible will set you up for success in this role.
