About the Role
They are currently seeking a highly experienced & professional Board Governance Manager to join their team in Sydney CBD, with the opportunity to work remotely from home on occasion. This is an estimated 6-month temporary assignment, with a potential to extend.

Working within the Board Governance Division, you will be required to provide company secretariat and corporate governance services to the Board’s Committees, Dust Diseases Board and Group Leadership Team whilst supporting the Head of Board Governance in delivering services to the Board.

In this rewarding role, you will be undertaking the following duties:
  • Establish and develop strong partnerships with key business stakeholders to support improvements in the quality and timeliness of papers and information
  • Gather and collate detailed information to develop and educate the capability of the business in preparation of Board and Committee briefs and presentations
  • Determine the scheduling of Committee and Dust Diseases Board meetings to ensure alignment to the needs of the business
  • Complete diary management
  • Assist the Head of Board Governance in Board and Committee meetings including Acting as the chair
  • Preparation of high-level documentation including agenda’s, correspondence, briefing notes, meeting minutes, action items, reports and presentation material
  • Manage risk registers
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Board and Committee Governance
  • Conduct research and reviews of charters, policies and governance
  • Review final content to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies
  • Manage the process for appointments and selection Risk, Compliance and Audit Committee members as per the NSW Government pre-qualification Scheme and the Dust Diseases Board, assisting in the Board appointments
  • Coordinate and manage induction and orientation of new Board Directors and Committee members along with performance evaluation reviews and professional development offerings
  • Observe principles of diplomacy and confidentiality, ensuring compliance and best practice

About You
To be successful in this great assignment you will have the following:
  • Demonstrated Executive support experience
  • Willingness to work towards a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance to become a Chartered Secretary through the Governance Institute of Australia
  • Proven Secretariat experience in leading a board
  • Corporate, Insurance and Government Sectors experience highly desirable
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong Stakeholder engagement skills
  • Superior organisational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Takes initiative, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency with TRIM and MS office Suite
  • Willingness to complete a National Police Check
  • Reliable remote internet access
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
