This role is suited to a skilled BA who has exposure to Data Governance to help drive our clients digital transformation project.

My client, a leading federal government agency, is looking for a Business Analyst (Data Governance) who will be responsible for providing consultative business analysis and someone who holds strong stakeholder expertise to plan and assist in the implementation of a number of Data Governance and related initiatives to support the management use of data as a to drive our Digital Transformation Program.

• 12 month+ contract with a prominent federal govt agency

The business Analyst (Data Governance) will be responsible for the following:

• Drive the capture of the business needs, pain points, benefits, and maturity requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business units to support the successful implementation of Data Governance and related initiatives
• Business process mapping for ongoing requirements.
• Working in conjunction with the business stakeholders and technology teams acting as the main liaison for business analysis type work.
• AS-IS – TO-BE process analysis and documentation.
• Lead and facilitate the required stakeholder workshops.
• Work with business areas in providing transitional processes that align and work towards the agreed TO-BE processes.
• Assist with the development of business cases, including research, data capture and solution option definition.
• Monitor and report on the status of progress key deliverables for Data Governance

In order to be successful in this role, you'll ideally possess most of the following skills and experience:

• 5yrs + experience as a business analyst
• a tertiary education degree in one of the following relevant domains: IT, info management, law, software engineering
• Superb communication and presentation skills
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• Experience in design thinking and business analysis
• Experience in process mapping and data management tools
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into terms that business stakeholders can understand.
• Exemplary documentation and reporting skills
• Proficiency in negotiation, prioritisation, planning, and organisation
• Critical thinking to identify and understand complex data governance issues
• The capacity to understand complicated calculations and their application and implication
• Leadership ambition
