We are seeking a Business Development & Account Manager - Board and Governance Services to join the team in our Sydney office on a permanent fulltime basis.

The Business Development & Account Manager will drive business growth within the corporate, government and not for profit communities within NSW.  A key component of the role is identifying where the existing customer base can be enhanced as well as developing new business opportunities. Another crucial element will be cultivating a network of key relationships with internal and external stakeholders driving long term results.

Develop, tailor and promote the AICD education product suite and bespoke governance consulting services to meet and advance the governance, professional development and directorship needs of your clients. You will influence and engage with senior executive level professionals, Boards and Chairs comfortably and an ability to build trust and credibility is essential. A highly developed and adaptable communication style with an interest in governance will also see you succeed.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement account plans for new and existing clients.
  • Actively seek, research and evaluate new business development opportunities.
  • Optimise client and market intelligence into tangible action
  • Develop proposals, including collation of relevant collateral with assistance from the Client Support Team.
  • Prepare business development and activity forecasts.
  • Diagnose the needs, design and offering from our range of products.
  • Identify and grow new opportunities for existing clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop new solutions to meet member and client needs.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on the implementation of products and services.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure due diligence to achieve commercial and organisational compliance imperatives.
  • Attend key events as a source of lead generation and networking.
  • Ensure accurate portfolio data and CRM management.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

  • Qualification in Sales/Marketing/Business or similar highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales and Account Management experience in a B2B environment.
  • Strong experience communicating C&D-level executives.
  • Strong understanding in governance principles or a willingness to learn.
  • Exceptional negotiating and influencing ability.
  • Polished interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and produce quality results with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Intermediate computing skills in MS Office Suite, CRMs and other software and technologies.
