We’re looking for an experienced Compliance Assurance Manager to be responsible for second line compliance assurance activities across icare. Supporting the GM Compliance, you will provide monitoring and evidence-based assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of the enterprise Compliance Management Framework.


You’ll be working with a diverse team of high performing, committed and enthusiastic people who really care about making a difference for people and the NSW community. You will have a mind for getting things done and a heart for people and you will set the bar high through the quality of the work you do and the people-oriented decisions you make.


You’ll bring demonstrated experience in audit and/or assurance with strong understanding of enterprise risk and compliance management frameworks. Ideally, you will have developed a sound understanding of business risk, mitigation strategies and assurance frameworks within an insurance, corporate or commercially driven public sector environment. Bringing strong influencing skills, and able to establish relationships all levels of an organisation, you’ll be highly collaborative and maintain the highest standards of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.


It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same. But on a typical day you might find yourself:


  • Supporting the effective implementation of the enterprise wide compliance management framework and broader risk management framework across the icare business, through a systematic and thorough controls assurance program.
  • Providing information and advice to the General Manager, Compliance on the evaluation of business strategies to identify gaps and to strengthen compliance controls.
  • Undertaking key control testing and reporting on design and operating effectiveness of the control framework.
  • Coaching and guiding business leaders to ensure they are suitably equipped to manage and control compliance risk in their area of accountability and that a consistent approach to risk mitigation is adopted across the business.
  • Supporting the business to identify key compliance controls and implement testing plans to identify control gaps and weaknesses.
  • Researching and providing input into the risk management framework and associated policies and procedures to ensure they reflect industry best practice for a robust compliance control framework.
