The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) formed on 1 January 2019. The role of the Commission is to protect and enhance the safety, health, well-being and quality of life of people receiving aged care.

 

A full-time, ongoing opportunity exists in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. The Compliance Manager position is responsible for operational management of aged care quality compliance matters.

Reporting to the Director in Approvals Compliance and Investigation Group, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Undertake risk assessment and exercise delegations based on advice received from the Quality Group in Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and/or other regulators. 
  • Leadership and management responsibility for APS6, APS 5 and 4 officers in the section.
  • Stakeholder engagement with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the Department.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills in dealing with industry representatives while maintaining accurate and contemporaneous recordkeeping.
  • Ability to identify, discuss and rectify issues as they arise while adhering to legislation, national policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of team goals, work plans and broader section planning.

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Capacity for objective analysis and sound professional judgement in making complex decisions.
  • Highly-developed written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to audiences with a range of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and finalise comprehensive, well analysed and evidence-based documented written reasons for decisions in accordance with relevant legislation, national policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage interpersonal and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management, prioritisation and working with competing priorities.
  • High level analytical skills to accurately identify risk using appropriate decision tools for reporting/managing unacceptable risks.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a larger team, and within the broader departmental environment in accordance with the APS Values and Code of Conduct.

 

Salary offered will be between $102,512 and $116,916 per annum depending on skills and experience.  In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
