Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Compliance Response Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role:

The EL1 Assistant Director Compliance Response is an important team leadership position within the department and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. It will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the positions assigned Work Area.

The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. It will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support. The EL1 Assistant Director Compliance Response will support the Compliance Response Taskforce through the implementation of the Agency's Compliance and Enforcement Framework. It contributes to the management, implementation and review of the branch's policies and processes by providing support which reflects the NDIS legislation and understanding of disability.

The role will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the client's objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading initiatives to identify opportunities to build better practices in compliance through the ongoing design and review of contemporary compliance approaches.

  • Providing guidance and support to the branch around management and escalation of compliance issues, accounting for applicable legislation, processes and procedures.

  • Leading the development and implementation of compliance related policies.

  • Providing advice and procedural guidance in areas of compliance and fraud related policy and design.

  • Coordinating and preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
