Job Description

Global Express moves the businesses that move Australasia, offering our customers unrivalled access to an extensive transport network across Australia and New Zealand. Our services are designed around our customers with road, air, sea and rail freight options to securely deliver everything from documents through to critical spare parts and medical supplies.

Job Description

This newly created role can be based at any of our Global Express sites along the Eastern Seaboard (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane)! It has a national remit to ensure compliance objectives are met, with the focus of closing knowledge gaps in the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) with our operational leaders.

In-line with our internal safety and compliance policies and procedures, the newly appointed Compliance Trainer will develop and deliver internal training packages that cover CoR, heavy vehicle accreditation, fatigue, maintenance and repair, speed management, mass, loading, load restraint, and other related topics. You will be our internal ‘champion’ for CoR, safety compliance, and regulatory compliance in the road transport sphere and enjoy an autonomous role that allows you to create your own way of working.

We anticipate the successful candidate coming from one of several backgrounds. Perhaps the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, ATA, HSE Compliance or Auditor Trainer or from a Truck Driver background with driver trainer experience.

Day to day duties include;

  • Developing and delivering internal training packages that cover CoR, heavy vehicle accreditation, fatigue, maintenance/repair, speed management, mass, loading, load restraint, and other related topics, as required
  • Driving increased internal compliance with our policies by supporting business units (e.g. with training and expertise), and following-up to achieve agreed targets
  • Managing and updating the internal systems in place to track compliance
  • Managing communications to business units regarding training programs (e.g. webinars, e-mails etc)
  • Supporting our operations in responses to customer requests on CoR and safety/compliance

We are looking for someone who;

  • Preferably has a workplace training qualification, Auditor, HSE Systems or Quality systems auditor qualifications
  • Knowledge of the regulations applicable to heavy vehicles
  • Experience or a desire to conduct workplace training and workshop presentations
  • Practical knowledge of transport compliance activities and procedures
  • Ability to manage and monitor the compliance of transport operations
