Join a local government in the outer eastern suburbs in this temporary role with a view to permanency for the right candidate. You will lead a team of 4 to improve risk management culture across the organisation. Council is currently working to development organisational Risk Appetite Statements, reviewing the Strategic Risk Register and developing strategic risk KRIs.

Your day to day will involve;

  • developing the capability, cohesion and performance of the risk and infringements team;
  • building relationships and working positively and productively across council, the community and external stakeholders;
  • keeping ahead of sector changes and issues with respect to risk, insurance and infringement matters and providing expert advice and support on these issues;
  • leading the delivery of good risk management, insurance and infringement frameworks, processes and practice;

To be successful you will have;

  • Demonstrated relevant work experience in a similar role involving leadership of a team  
  • Qualification in risk management, insurance management, law or related discipline
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, able to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience and understanding of risk management, insurance management, business continuity planning and internal audit management, with ability to lead change from the front
