Permanent Full time position - 35 hour week.
19 day 4 week cycle.
Variable Day Off scheme and 9.5% Superannuation
$1,353.34 to $1,569.87 per week plus superannuation dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.
The Corporate Strategy and Governance Officer is responsible for promoting and providing business partner support to management for the implementation of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting and Governance Frameworks and resulting programs and processes.
The role functions as part of a small team and as such will be required to perform duties to deliver broader corporate goals, including provision of governance advice, ensuring Council acts in accordance with the Local Government Act, 1993, providing legislative interpretation, access to information, preparation of Integrated Planning and Reporting documents.
Use professional judgement and technical expertise to provide business partner support for the enhancement and implementation of Council’s Governance and Integrated Planning and Reporting Frameworks.
Determine requests for information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and technical advice in relation to Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 in accordance with the legislation and Council’s policies and procedures.
Provide sound advice and technical support on Council’s Internal Audit function and Audit, Risk and Improvement Advisory Committee meetings.
Play a key role in the implementation of Council’s policy program and complaints handling framework, including maintaining registers and providing advice to staff in the preparation and review policies.
Promote and provide technical advice on the implementation and maintain Council’s Ethical Behaviour Framework and resulting policies, processes and registers.
Provide expert advice and technical support to management for the development of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting documents, including development and implementation of community and stakeholder engagement programs.
Administer Council’s Performance Planning and Reporting system, including providing training to staff using the system.
Provide training, advice and support the organisation to ensure all statutory reporting obligations are met.
Undertake project work and research and prepare briefing papers and reports related to Corporate Strategy and Governance programs for the Executive, other staff and Council as required.
Carry out other tasks and responsibilities as required and assigned from time to time, including working as part of a multi-disciplinary team achieving outcomes in line with the business plan.
