About the Opportunity

Qenos currently has an opportunity for an experienced Credit & Risk Advisor to join their team in Altona, VIC

The Credit & Risk Advisor is required to be a trusted advisor to the business with responsibility for designing and managing significant elements of the Qenos Governance Framework pertaining to business risk management, inclusive of internal audit and controls, group insurance programs and credit risk management.

Reporting to the Treasurer, this role requires a subject-matter expert to own and manage the following responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute and maintain an efficient and cost effective controls strategy;
  • Design and implement group insurance programs;
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Teams and Accounts Receivable Analysts to identify, understand and manage existing and emerging credit risks;
  • Lead and champion risk management activities and steward risk mitigation strategies;
  • Lead ad hoc investigations into irregularities identified across the organisation;
  • Prepare reports, forecasts and presentations for management and the wider business on risk and internal control matters; and
  • Ensure that the performance of the role is conducted in a manner that complies with and promotes Company & Statutory Safety, Health & Environment requirements and best practices.
About You

The successful incumbent of this role will be resilient and courageous by nature and enjoy working with a range of people in a position where initiative, honesty, integrity and expertise are valued. 

In addition to the above, it will be essential that the successful candidate possesses the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance;
  • 5-10 years experience in financial and/or commercial roles within large corporations or associated consultancy businesses;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing internal audit and controls programs;
  • Extensive knowledge of credit risk identification, assessment, and management techniques;
  • Proven experience in Business Risk identification, mitigation and management;
  • A sound understanding of accounting and auditing principles and practices and Australian Accounting Standards; and
  • A confident ability to rapidly build rapport and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Beyond the above-listed experience, you would also ideally have experience with SAP and Membership with Professional Accounting and Risk Management bodies.
