Enterprise Data and Regulatory Reporting – Associate Director

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Risk Management Group, Operational Risk and Governance division. You will take on a key role in the 2nd Line of Defence applying your skills and experience to influence stakeholders, challenge the status quo and help to drive agenda to reduce data and regulatory reporting risks. This new, senior role will report directly to the Division Director, Enterprise Data and Regulatory Reporting.

You will work with Line 1 stakeholders in technology, operations, and business across multiple locations to gain an understanding of the end-to-end Enterprise Data, Regulatory Reporting, Records Lifecycle Management and Model risk profiles and work with stakeholders to effectively manage risks within appetite.

Specifically, you will help lead a new Enterprise Data and Regulatory Reporting risk management team responsible for:

  • Ongoing evolution of risk appetite, policies, and frameworks in response to current and emerging data, regulatory reporting, records lifecycle management and model risks.
  • Independent review and challenge of Line 1 implementation of the risk policies, including targeted reviews of effectiveness.
  • Advising Line 1 on policies and best practice for control design, risk measurement, analysis, assessment, and reporting.
  • Deep dives to support investigation of related issues and their strategic remediation.
  • Risk profile reporting to Macquarie senior management and providing input and insights to governance forums.

You will work in close partnership with Line 1 stakeholders to ensure activities across all risk types are both well communicated and coordinated.

To be successful you will have:

  • Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to work flexibly, learn and adapt dynamically in a complex, fast paced and outcome focussed environment is a must.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (written and oral), with proven influencing skills and experience with senior management and board reporting.
  • Subject matter expertise in Data Management would be highly regarded, especially experience in Data Governance and/or Reporting and Analytics.
  • Experience managing Regulatory Reporting programmes covering global financial services or prudential regulators would be important to help you succeed within the role.
  • Experience with records lifecycle management and model risk is desirable.
  • Experience in risk management within financial services or an equivalent industry is highly desirable.
