The Technology Risk team plays an integral role in the strengthening, embedding and ongoing improvement of the technology risk and control environment across multiple business units within the Group. You will be part of a high-performing, well respected team focused on delivering a high-quality technology risk and controls management service for Enterprise Services divisions. The roles will work closely with Platform owners across ES and the business to strengthen and drive effective Technology Risk Management and assist with uplifting controls and risk culture.

You will play a vital role in the execution of strategic initiatives within ES Controls Office to improve team effectiveness and performance, drive capability uplift activity and exemplify a strong and proactive risk culture.

Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service. Within ES, the Chief Controls Office is a first line of accountability function who are a group of trusted and skilled risk management experts empowering our business.

The purpose of the Chief Controls Office is to enable our business to be safe, sound and secure underpinned by strong risk management. The Chief Controls Office works in partnership with the Enterprise Services business to deliver safe, sound and secure risk outcomes with:

Risk management framework and tools

Risk expertise and coaching

Controls that are efficient, effective, sustainable and automated

A greater preventative focus rather than detective

Risk processes that are simple to understand and apply.

On any given day you will

Provide support for technology management in effectively managing Technology Risk

Undertake deep dive analysis on the overall risk and control environment in the portfolio identifying & implementing systemised control improvements where possible.

Drive a strong, proactive risk and controls culture across our business stakeholders.

Ensure effectiveness of controls for all new and changing processes, work with the change management team to understand impacts of all changes to the platform.

Understand the evolution of key risk and controls and work with other Line 1 Control Office teams to drive consistency.

Provide operational risk advice to the Business on procedural and risk management issues and emerging trends, challenges and opportunities

We're interested in people who possess

Demonstrated experience, understanding and knowledge of the risk and control environment and framework with proven experience with operational and compliance risks

Experience and awareness of technology compliance obligations and risk management

CA or CPA degree or any relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or risk management is preferred but not mandatory

CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, CISM, ITIL or other IT Risk related certifications (e.g. Basel II, GS007, AS3402, COBIT, ISO2700x)
