Group Data Governance Analyst

QBE is developing and investing in its data management and governance capabilities and we are creating the position of Group Data Governance Analyst. Reporting to the Group Head of Data Management, you will work closely with the Group Data Office, program and project management, divisional data governance teams, and with business partners.
You will support product ownership for the data governance capabilities and applications to help ensure the successful delivery of strategic objectives, including (but not limited to) process, people, and technology required. Contribute to the development of the Group Data Office team’s direction and strategy, ensuring key issues are considered during the planning phase.
Facilitate the design, development, and implementation of data governance reporting capability across the organization
Respond to data governance-related enquiries, using available data governance tools and procedures and ensuring adherence to QBE’s processes and best practice guidelines
Train and support users in data governance and management to develop awareness across the business and ensure QBE activities are of the highest standards and aligned to best practice
Support the development, maintenance, and prioritization of report delivery to ensure outputs are of a high standard and meet business requirements
Your story so far
Experience with relevant global regulations - GDPR, SII, APRA regulations, etc.
Experience within a data governance/management environment with a hands-on business role or an IT equivalent operational background
Previous experience in financial services (insurance preferably)
Exposure to leading data governance and management tools for master and reference data management, data quality, data governance (catalogue, dictionary, glossary, stewardship, lineage etc.)
Ability to contribute to the build of a business model diagram to illustrate business use of data
Broad awareness and understanding of data governance standards/requirements
