About the role

The Information & Data Governance Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with Information & Data Governance policies, practices, and guidance across all People’s Choice information & data. The role encompasses day-to-day oversight of the data & information used by People’s Choice within the nominated Subject Matter areas.

This role will actively drive high quality data throughout all People’s Choice systems and processes by partnering with Digital & Technology team, and corporate areas across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the ways in which information is stored, processed, and handled by segments of the People’s Choice business, and understand proposed changes that impact those processes and/or systems.
• Maintain a good knowledge of government, industry and organisational regulations that apply to both internal and external (3rd Party) information handled by People’s Choice business and understand the technical and business implications.
• Where a need has been identified to create a new Information Asset (formally bringing a category of information under Information Management), work with others to identify the most appropriate Information Asset Owner and work with him or her to create a definition;
• Onboard, train, and support Information Asset Owners to ensure they fully understand their responsibilities;
• Work with People’s Choice’s Organisational Risk area and Information Asset Owners to ensure that the risks pertaining to the Asset are well understood and documented (i.e., facilitating relationship between Organisational Risk and Information Asset Owners);
• Develop, review and contribute towards policy and procedures which promote the uplift of Information Management and Governance capability throughout People’s Choice.
• Grow the Information Governance maturity within People’s Choice, and implement / refine the Information Governance Framework, under the direction of the Chief Information Manager.

About you

You will be motivated and passionate about producing high quality data, that is ever increasing in accuracy, timeliness, and veracity. Utilising your strong stakeholder management skills, you will co-develop initiatives to support our people through the development and management of the processes that drive data quality.

What you will bring to the role:

• Extensive understanding of industry best practices for information management and data/information governance
• Well-developed workshop facilitation skills for structured information gathering
• Working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and technology
• Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills, sharp analytical skills
