The Division  


The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions. 


The opportunity 


Right now, we have an opportunity for a Manager Assurance & Transition in the Data Services and Integration team (DSI), as part of Infrastructure and Data Products, within the Technology and Innovation branch of Customer Strategy and Technology.


This role is responsible for ensuring new and modified systems meet the agreed expectations of the business, customers and users, and to ensure the ongoing support and maintenance of our products. Leading a team of 4 testing and service design professionals, we are looking for an enthusiastic dynamo to establish this new function of the DSI team. 


The Manager Assurance & Transition contributes towards the following day to day responsibilities:


  • Work with stakeholders, SMEs, leaders and the DSI team to design and institute the Assurance and Transition function based on best practice and to the needs of the DSI team and broader business
  • Establish and administer testing frameworks, based on best practices and proven methodologies, that manage and assure and effective and efficient end-to-end assurance lifecycle
  • Support project and delivery teams in assessing testing requirements, developing plans, to completion of testing and release into production
  • Establish and administer a service design framework that captures all aspects of product and service definition, management, support, and transition for the DSI team
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that ensure requirements have been met and completed services are smoothly transitioned to BAU teams
  • Be our champion of products and services, developing new innovations for stakeholder engagement and promotion of DSI service offerings

About you


  • Experience working in complex and changing data and system environments with an emphasis of doing things well and delivering outstanding results
  • Excellent knowledge and extensive experience leading test teams in multifaceted data eco-system working with critical PII, historical and real-time data
  • Practised professional working with system and data SMEs across the organisation to establish and work to standards and models, and deliver best in business frameworks that ensure data quality, service provision, ownership, support and sustainability 
  • You will be a strong communicator and proactive participant, highly coordinated and capable of using your initiative in representing transport objectives and outcomes in the team and across the Branch
  • Strong written and oral skills are essential with the ability to be flexible and pivot when dealing with many projects and multiple stakeholder groups
  • You will need excellent people skills and the courage and willingness to guide and support throughout the project lifecycles

Salary and Benefits 


The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 9 ($135,898 - $152,204) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
