Manager Internal Audit, Ongoing, Sydney


An opportunity for a high performing Internal Audit Manager to join the DCS Internal Audit function which is part of the Governance, Risk and Performance (GRP) branch. GRP sits within our Corporate Services division and is responsible for delivering strong governance and risk management advisory and support services to the cluster.


DCS Internal Audit reports to a number of Audit & Risk Committees, has an in-house team which is supported by professional firms under an outsource agreement.  It also has an investigation function that independently investigates fraud and corruption matters.


The Internal Audit Manager role plays an important role in leading or participating in the annual planning process and overseeing the execution and delivery of a portfolio of audits in the approved audit plan. This role is also critical for building stakeholder relationships and ensuring customer and stakeholder expectations are met. 


You will have a key relationship role with Executive Management and assist in the periodic reporting to the Audit and Risk Committees and the Management Assurance Committee.


To be successful in this role you will have:


  • CA or CPA qualification
  • CIA and/or CISA qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong people leadership capability and experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of or experience in a NSW government setting (desirable but not essential)

Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $131,094 base plus superannuation
