Our Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team provide a variety of specialist knowledge in areas such as: Technology Infrastructure & Risk, IT/Data Governance, IT Internal Audit & General Controls, Third- Party Outsourced Operations, Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity/ Disaster Recovery Management, IT Systems Processes & Controls, Information Security, Process Improvements & Consulting/Advisory services.

Current Opportunity
Our Sydney office is looking to appoint a highly motivated and high-calibre Technology Risk Manager to join our Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team. As a Manager, you will be working with the RAS Leadership Team in building our brand in the market. You will also receive opportunities to work with other service lines, using our firm’s positive culture and values as the cornerstones towards becoming a future leader. This role offers a great variety of work, autonomy, client contact, direct interaction with Partners/Associate Directors, as well as contributing to the development of junior team members.


Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in building and mentoring a team of highly skilled technology risk staff. Manage a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industry sectors, with a focus on technology risk, controls and assurance. Supervise and undertake fieldwork and prepare written reports or deliverables of a high quality and standard, adhering to budgets and timelines. Understand and apply the firm's professional delivery standards to deliver high-quality, insightful advice and exceptional client service. Coach and mentor junior members of the team. Assist in the growth and business development of the practice while working with other service lines across the broader BDO team.
Key Requirements
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role in practice or industry Technology, Accounting or business-related tertiary qualification CISA, CISM, CISSP or equivalent certifications Experience in auditing Software as a Service (Saas) or other Managed IT Services Experience in auditing of data centres, IT infrastructure, ICT Strategic Plans Experience with Enterprise Resource Management systems (SAP, Oracle, TechOne etc.) Experience in providing assurance of Third Party Outsourced operations (SOC 2, CPS234, ASAE3402, GS007 etc.) Exposure to Business Continuity Management Experience in reviewing Program Management Offices (PMO) and project assurance services Sound experience in IT process mapping, risk and control identification Exposure to ICT Strategic Plan development An understanding of IT Procurement processes and control processes Exposure to Data Analytics or working with Data Teams Sound knowledge of ITIL, COBIT 5 and other control frameworks Ability to work independently using professional judgment Australian driver’s licence and vehicle access (as travel outside of Sydney Metro may be required).
