You will be joining the Everyday Business Banking (EBB) Customer and Risk Team within Business Banking (BB). EBB delivers reliable and innovative solutions that support Business Customers ranging from Small Business through to Institutional Clients.

The Customer and Risk Team partners with EBB Product teams to meet their strategic objectives whilst maintaining exceptional customer and risk outcomes.

This role is responsible for supporting the Growth and Better Business (GBB) and Commercial Deposits (CD) Business understand, assess and mitigate risks in the end-to-end delivery of their products and services.

Do work that matters

Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Control Advisory and Delivery, you will provide an end to end risk and control service, including the effective design & implementation of controls, ensuring the operational risk & compliance frameworks are effectively implemented in their BU's and also ensuring each BU LT has the right level of comfort and governance within their risk environment. You will also triage risk in change initiatives, provide a risk opinions whilst maintaining an effective risk management framework.

More specifically you will

  • Prepare information to support the strategic planning process and conduct analysis, tracking and reporting on the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS)
  • Work effectively with Line 2 colleagues to determine optimal course of action to remediate any significant data integrity issues within the BU/SU
  • Effectively design controls for all new and changing processes and operations, and support the business through the implementation
  • Design and implement / support the business to design and implement controls and develop process maps to enable better risk and compliance outcomes
  • Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements
  • Report on operational risk and control profiles, issues, incidents and other matters
  • Identify, lead and manage continuous improvement of the business control environment by using data to generate insights
  • Ensure risks are profiled and captured in the Risk Profile (RCSA) and update when risk trigger events occur.
  • Conduct and manage Control Assurance Program (CAP) testing, including the development of test scripts, and report on assurance findings
  • Manage the Risk in Change (RiC) framework, whilst ensuring the control environment is maintained
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

  • Demonstrable experience from working within a risk management or controls focused role, within banking / financial services
  • Understanding of risk mitigation strategies
  • Ability to partner with the business to understand risk as an enabler for growth and success
  • Sound hypothesis-driven, analytical problem solving
