About the Role

Our Operational Risk and Compliance team are instrumental to Youi doing the right thing by our customers, as well as supporting Youi’s growth as we enter into a new chapter of business maturity. This is an exciting new role sitting within ‘first line’ risk and compliance, responsible for reviewing and testing risk management controls to assess their effectiveness and implementing new solutions where required. The successful person will work closely with a variety of business stakeholders including the leadership team in Operations, as well as second-line risk, and compliance personnel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Test risk controls in line with regular risk register reviews to evaluate effectiveness of each control
  • Consider the effectiveness of controls and how they impact residual risk ratings
  • Consult with the business to update controls and ensure controls are effective
  • Work with operations stakeholders to identify risk controls that may be ineffective
  • Work with process updates and capability specialists to communicate effective control management to ensure a risk and control awareness
  • Identify opportunities to contribute and improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance whilst upholding all Youi values

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in risk and or compliance related disciplines desirable
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a risk/compliance related discipline preferred
  • Financial services (insurance, banking, or superannuation) industry experience preferred as well as working knowledge of regulatory and remediation frameworks
  • Strong numeracy, analytical and MS Excel skills
  • Stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask
  • An eagle eye for detail as well as a passion for improving processes and procedures
