Property Insurance Risk Surveyor (Sydney)

Asset Inspect is an established and well respected national company, providing technical property related risk consultancy services to the insurance industry. We are seeking a Property Insurance Risk Surveyor based in Sydney. 

The role of the Property Insurance Risk Surveyor is to conduct onsite inspections of commercial and industrial properties, in order to provide detailed and accurate risk reports to our Insurer clients to enable them to make informed decisions about insurance policies. The Property Insurance Risk Surveyor will be on the road full time, attend pre-arranged appointments, and use mobile software to collect data onsite, including use of UAV drones.

Whilst most inspections are within the metropolitan areas of Sydney, there is a requirement for regional and occasional interstate travel.  

The position is suited to those with a property, real estate, or property insurance related background who are already either a Property Risk Surveyor, Loss Adjuster, Real Estate Property Sales or Managing Agent, Building Inspector, Building Consultant, Building Surveyor, Facilities Manager, Pre-Purchase Inspector, Property Valuer, Building Estimator, or Fire Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections of commercial and industrial properties
• Accurately detail building construction materials
• Identify fire equipment and security systems installed
• Identify any potential risk hazards and apply relevant risk improvement solutions
• Identify any areas of non-compliance to Australia Standards
• Measure building size in square metres
• Take photos of building/s, both internally and externally, including aerial drone photos of the roof

Essential Skills/Experience/Criteria:

• Ability to travel regionally and occasionally interstate
• Sound knowledge of commercial and industrial building construction materials
• Strong ability to write and present cohesive, coherent, and technically sound reports
• IT competent
• Valid driver’s license
• Successfully pass a national police check
• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or have permanent residency status.

• Is highly organised and able to manage / prioritise workloads while adhering to client deadlines
• A positive attitude and a proactive approach to solving problems
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Education / Qualification Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree / Tertiary qualification in either Property, Real Estate, Valuation, Insurance, Building, Building Surveying, Engineering, or related building studies
