Opportunity to work for a reputable Australian company in a very broad Risk & Compliance role where there will be lots of risk strategy, risk culture, running strategic risk workshops, working through transformational digital change and rolling your sleeves up and given the opportunity to really build on your CV.

The role will have you reporting to the Head Of and working closely with the business. It is a varied role with a mixture of performing hands on work, strategic thinking and stakeholder management. You will provide thought leadership and input - an exciting opportunity to try something different in your risk career.

The Role;

  • Maintain and oversee compliance with the Risk Management Framework.
  • Lead risk initiatives and develop risk related policies and frameworks as required.
  • Provide practical risk advisory services to stakeholders, including risk profiling, control assurance, oversight, compliance, incident management and knowledge governance.
  • Conduct Risk in Change assessments on new and existing products, key projects and initiatives and identify and/or recommend appropriate risk countermeasures and best practices.
  • Prepare risk management reporting and insights to senior management and Board.
  • Respond to, manage and mitigate the impact of risk events, breaches and incidents.
  • Lead the outsourced Internal Audit program.
  • Lead and implement risk culture programs including training and awareness
  • Drive continuous improvement of the business control environment through risk improvements, thought leadership, insights and reporting.
  • Promote and create a strong risk and compliance culture

Your Background;

  • Previous 1st or 2nd Line Risk and/or Audit experience - Financial Services experience is advantageous but other industries considered
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance frameworks
  • CA Qualified would be advantageous
  • Would consider Senior Manager level or a Manager due to step up.
  • Excellent attention to detail with excellent report writing skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, strong influencing skills is a must
  • Tertiary legal qualifications, minimum of degree level
