The Chief Controls Office is responsible for developing the non-financial risk strategy and supporting CFS to proactively reduce risk exposure in the business in the context of our risk appetite. The Controls Office is the central conduit between the business and Line 2 Risk Management.

Your role:

The Risk & Control Governance, Planning & Reporting team is responsible for ensuring adequate oversight of L1 risk activities, framework activities, strategy execution and supporting the efforts to drive risk culture and maturity across CFS. The team will achieve this through monitoring data quality and intelligence, providing risk insights, measuring and enhancing risk culture & capability, reporting, work planning and interactions with Line 2.  

In this role, you will be responsible for producing and driving insightful risk reporting and risk data analytics to support CFS.

Your responsibilities:

  • Contribute to motivating and inspiring a proud and engaged team of control assurance professionals and support their capability development. Live ‘member first’ and ‘should we’ mindset in all that the team does.
  • Accountable for the preparation of risk and controls reporting for attestations for the BU / SU by sourcing, collating and validating content
  • Provide oversight for the assessment and management of the impact of regulatory change for IPP, SPP and strategy setting
  • Accountable for developing operating guidance to drive consistency for the BU/SU and collating and providing commentary on key metrics for the Controls Office
  • Data Extraction and Maintenance:
    • Designing, maintaining and enhancing architecture for WM Risk to support timely and relevant data analysis; 
    • Designing, maintaining and enhancing data sources for use within Risk Reporting;
    • Implement data mining and related techniques to extract trends in relation to risk data;
    • Support ongoing maintenance and availability for data for the business.
  • Dashboards and Visualisation
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and advanced visualisation outputs for the business; and
    • Modernise existing reporting to move to a self-service and interactive delivery of risk reporting.
  • Advanced Analytics
    • Support requirements for Advanced Analytics and Data Science projects; and
    • Review and oversight of Analytics processes or projects within business units.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Superannuation and investment business commercial aptitude and knowledge
  • Deep understanding of the ORMF/CRMF is advantageous
  • Demonstrated previous experience in Analytics, Data Management.
  • Expert in SQL language, understands working with the Databases and complex data structures.
  • Must have experience in designing, maintaining and enhancing data sources using Alteryx for use within Risk Reporting;
  • Previous experience in governance and reporting.
  • Implement data mining and related techniques to extract trends in relation to risk data using Python / R;
  • Intermediate level experience in Tableau preferred

As this is a role to work in the CFS business, the successful candidate will initially be employed by the CBA Group but on sale completion, their employment will transfer to a new entity that will employ the CFS business employees from completion.
