The opportunity

You will sit within the Risk Business Support Division of QBE and work with a team of Risk Analysts and Risk Managers to support certain insurance business units. Reporting into a highly experienced Senior Risk Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in all aspects of risk including strategic, operational, insurance, compliance
  • Working on risk management software – Insight
  • Identifying issues and incidents and conducting root cause analysis
  • Liaising with business stakeholders, providing ongoing risk support
  • Reporting tasks, monthly, quarterly, and yearly
  • Managing and sorting data, using excel and Power BI
  • Handle and present data in a usable format including dashboards
  • Writing risk papers, with support of your manager
  • Developing over time to take on more complex tasks

Your story so far
As this role is aligned to certain business units, understanding of insurance operations from multiple angles, for example commercial lines or finance, would be extremely beneficial. Some of the crucial experience we are looking for includes:

  • Risk experience including risk profiles, risk indicators, controls testing, issue and incident management, trend analysis for issues and incidents.
  • Tertiary education or equivalent work experience
  • Data analysis skills using excel and tools like Power BI to create reports and dashboards
  • Solid people skills including managing multiple styles of stakeholders
  • Understanding of risk in a general insurance setting
