We currently have a Risk Governance Advisor vacancy for someone to join our Integrated Portfolio and Treasury Risk Team.

The role supports the Risk Governance Manager in implementing and maintaining a holistic risk landscape and management framework for the wholesale and treasury portfolio and provide guidance on compliance of trading processes with internal policies and external requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitor AGL business unit for compliance with risk management policies and report progress to senior management
  • Support business units in addressing trends and non-compliance issues and ensure agreed actions are implemented within timeframes
  • Assist in coordination of risk committee meetings
  • Carry out compliance reviews and ad-hoc assurance activities with the risk management policy
  • Assist the business in coordinating and obtain approval for special business contracts/projects/agreements.
  • Provide guidance to trading, middle and back office personnel on compliance of trading process with policy and external requirements
  • Own the process of onboarding trading personnel including maintenance of training records
  • Assist the manager with system management, including change management, user access reviews and BCP assessments
  • Where required, assist the team in delivery of compliance activities around environmental product schemes, AML/CTF and AFSL.

About You

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Exposure to the Australian energy markets, relevant regulatory and financial instruments experience
  • Strong ability to communicate information, consult and work with the team to achieve team goals
  • Strong, proactive consultation and relationship building skills with stakeholders both internal and external to the Risk team and AGL.
  • Proactively drive policy requirements within and with stakeholders outside the Risk team to ensure compliance with relevant Policies and Compliance Programs
  • Ability to identify, diagnose and escalate issues on a timely basis
  • Proactive management of own workload to ensure that deadlines are met, or potential issues are raised early
  • Attention to detail while understanding the broader context, striving for excellence
  • Experience in policy and risk management and audit
  • Experience in utility or financial services markets
  • Undergraduate qualification in a business or analytical discipline required
