Ashurst's newly created Risk Advisory practice operates as an independent advisory function, and an adjacent function to the firm's legal practices. Ashurst's Managed Services practice provides clients with end to end solutions to address strategic, reputational, operational or regulatory risk. These end to end solutions include the design, build, implementation and operation of processes and functions that drive sustainable business outcomes. Such solutions may be one-off or ongoing and could include elements such as technology, quality management, governance, business processes re-engineering, and outsourcing; solving complex client issues that require deep specialist expertise for example IBOR/LIBOR transition and Consumer Remediation.

Ashurst, Australia are looking to attract an outstanding candidate to join the Managed Services practice as a Specialist. As a Specialist, you will be an integral member of a team who will deliver non-financial risk managed service solutions, primarily in the financial services industry in Australia including, but not limited to, operational risk, regulatory risk, RegTech, risk transformation, compliance and conduct risk.

A Specialist will be responsible for building client relationships, supporting the delivery enterprise risk solutions, as well as assisting in the growth and development of the Risk Advisory practice in Australia.

M ain responsibilities:

    • Developing key project artefacts such as policies and procedures, spreadsheets, presentations, requirements, impact analysis, stakeholder matrices and reporting to support the delivery of client engagements.
    • Prioritising, planning, coordinating and executing projects to ensure on time delivery.
    • Identifying and mitigating project risks and issues that ensures successful delivery of the clients intended business outcomes.
    • Analysing data to assist with decision making.
    • Building trusted client relationships and delivering to promise.
    • Modelling business processes and implementing process improvements.
    • Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with Ashurst's regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a professional services firm or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • The ability to build client relationships and leverage technical expertise to solve client problems
  • The ability to successfully deliver client services and engagements
  • The ability to work independently but also as a member of a team
  • Strong analytical skills, report writing and presentation skills
  • Practical knowledge and experience in project management frameworks, tools or methodologies
