As the Risk Underwriter - Credit & Surety you will act as a Trade Credit business partner with assigned intermediaries and policy holders. You will be responsible for underwriting, monitoring and reviewing Trade Credit risk for a portfolio of clients within set underwriting guidelines. The role will report into the Regional Risk Underwriting Manager.
Additional duties will include but are not limited to;
Plan and implement risk strategies to assess and monitor credit risk across multiple portfolios and trade sectors
Underwrite Trade Credit risk in accordance with organisational policy and underwriting standards
Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes
Develop relationships with external and internal stakeholders including policy holders, brokers and intermediaries to maximise influence and achieve business objectives
Underwriting activities in compliance with business and regulatory requirements
Your story so far
Financial or accounting background with demonstrated experience in credit and financial risk analysis
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability with an ability to work systematically through complex matters and positively influence outcomes
Knowledge of the insurance or banking/lending industries would be preferable
Self-motivated and ability to work towards positive outcomes
Strong skills in excel and the ability to quickly become highly efficient in the use of new systems
