Our Risk Culture and Accountability team forms part of the Group Risk Management’s Enterprise Risk team here at CommBank and supports the Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) and Business Unit/Support Unit Chief Risk Officers to deliver risk management frameworks and processes that help the business to take the right risks and manage them in a disciplined, transparent and effective way. As Senior Analyst Risk Culture you’ll be working within the Group Risk Management function but with a strong interface with the Group Human Resources (HR) function to ensure alignment of risk culture initiatives to broader organisational culture.

Do work that matters

As Senior Analyst Risk Culture, you will be working with our Risk Culture Senior Managers and the Executive Manager Risk Culture to evolve the risk culture methodology and maturity across the Group, to reflect positive risk mindsets and behaviours in all facets of the business. This is a highly visible role with exposure to the business, and you will assist in generating and providing valued insights to senior leaders and the Board (our key stakeholder). You’ll also be partnering with business teams across the Group, Chief Controls Offices, Business Unit/Support Unit Risk Management teams, HR and Organisation Development.

Key responsibilities for this role include

  • Facilitating Risk Culture Deep Dive Assessments (surveys, focus groups and interviews).

  • Synthesising assessment output into insightful findings, and reporting to senior leaders.

  • Working with business partners to determine meaningful actions to respond to findings.

  • Providing input into the development, implementation and monitoring of the Group’s Risk Culture strategy, framework, tools and practices.

  • Contribute to designing a robust methodology for Business Unit risk culture self-reflections and assessments.

  • Contribute to the provision of advice to and oversight of Group and Business Unit risk culture plans and activities emanating from risk culture assessments.

  • Independently evaluating the effectiveness of risk culture initiatives.

  • Designing and conducting regular monitoring of risk culture maturity indicators.

  • Role modelling the Group’s risk behaviours and values, and build strong professional relationships with stakeholders including in the Business, Risk Management, Human Resources and Audit

  • Undertaking ad-hoc analysis, projects and tasks including regulator initiatives and requests.

  • Being an industry contributor and maintaining external partnerships relating to Risk Culture.

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • A tertiary qualification in the relevant disciplines (risk management, organisational psychology, organisational development, business/management).

  • Demonstrated experience in the field of risk culture, with a focus on risk culture embedment or transformation.

  • Experience in Risk Management is highly regarded.

  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to create compelling insights using quantitative and qualitative data points.

  • The ability to facilitate group dialogue and capability uplift.

  • Sound stakeholder management and influencing skills, ability to build good rapport.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
