Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Corporate Banking

THE OPPORTUNITY

A Full-Time permanent position is available for an experienced Credit Risk Analyst within the Credit and Risk Management Department.

OBJECTIVES

The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for assisting with internal and external audits as well as performing credit analysis, research, risk assessments and recommendations on new lending in accordance with policy and procedures.

Their primary objectives are: 

  • Assessing risk in new applications and existing portfolios by gathering independent credit reviews
  • Processing and reviewing applications and independent recommendations
  • Obtaining final credit approvals from senior management and Head Office

RESPONSIBILITIES

Credit

  • Review and conduct credit due-diligence on credit proposals (new lending, consent & variations, periodic review, annual review) completed by the Corporate Banking Department
  • Complete Credit analysis, research and risk assessments on new lending and periodic review in accordance with Branch Credit Policy and Procedures
  • Provide Credit recommendations and comments on Credit submissions completed 
    by Corporate Banking Department in accordance with the bank's
    Credit Approval Process
  • Liaise with the Head Office CRMD, Senior manager CRMD, Corporate Banking Department and other external professionals to clarify and gain in-depth 
    understanding of proposals and their inherent risks
  • Monitor the Post-Approval Periodic Monitoring Report
  • Assist Head of CRMD in monitoring and coordinating internal and external audit in order to improve the Branch’s credit control and to mitigate credit risks
  • Assist Head of CRMD in monitoring and coordinating APRA Credit Review

Ad Hoc Duties and Projects

  • Conduct coaching for Corporate Banking Department team members as a part of 
    the Credit up-skilling process
  • Provide Credit induction and training to interns
  • Assist Head Office CRMD and Senior Manager of CRMD to review, update and revise 
    existing Credit policy, Credit procedures and Credit Operating Manual
  • Work on ad hoc projects as assigned by the Head Office CRMD on Credit-related matters to improve the Bank's Credit quality

Credit Committee Meeting

  • Prepare meeting materials including; meeting agenda, monthly portfolio report, 
    minutes, Credit submission, and other documents/information to credit Committee 
    members for noting or endorsement
  • Liaise with Credit Committee members and other relevant departments to organise 
    and coordinate meeting schedule

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications for example Applied Finance, Investment, Commerce
  • 3-5 years' experience within a similar role with specific experience in commercial or corporate banking
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and credit risk
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office/VBA, SQL
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skill along with a strong attention to detail
  • Professional certification: CFA, CPA or FRM is an advantage
