Period of Appointment

As soon as possible for a period of up to 12 months.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part-time hours.

Duties

As part of a small and dynamic multi-skilled team, the Senior Governance Officer will coordinate and contribute to a range of governance related activities that will assist in the achievement of the Branch’s objectives. The role includes maintenance of, and support for, the Department’s governance frameworks managed by the Branch; support the Internal Audit functions, maintaining key frameworks such as the Project Management Framework, Risk Management Framework; as well as high level analytical, research and risk related activities that will assist the Branch to support the Department’s strategic objectives.

In the context of the selection criteria, to be successful in the position applicants will have:

  • high level communication and interpersonal skills including a proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • well-developed critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to interpret legislation;
  • knowledge of risk based governance frameworks;
  • proven capacity to coordinate and conduct a range of tasks including the planning, prioritisation and completion of work activities within tight and competing timeframes.

Desirable Requirements

Completion or partial completion of relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional affiliation.
