Based in our brand new South Eveleigh campus our RBS Controls and Customer Outcomes (CCO) team's purpose is to drive sustainable enhancements to business practices and processes that deliver better outcomes for our customers, shareholders and the community. We do this through our four strategic pillars of preventing, detecting and responding to issues and embedding and sustaining the change we make into the business we support.

Your role as Senior Manager Line 1 Risk (RBS CCO) will be to support the Executive Manager to ensure complete management visibility and awareness of risks and controls across RBS. This will include review of risk and control data for trends and providing insight into risks across the RBS business, including risk exposure and the control environment and the delivery of the CCO Control Assurance Program for the RBS control environment.

The role will also entail issue management tracking and reporting, preparing risk, control and issue reports and analysis for key governance forums as well as preparing insights for RBS CCO Sub-Risk Committee Board Committees and supporting the RBS Profile Reviews.

You'll be managing a small yet highly visible team who positively contributes to our business' success. You'll be empowered to speak up and make the best decisions to ensure better risk outcomes.

  • Demonstrated people leadership skills, including expectation setting, coaching, and performance management in an Operational Risk role within banking/financial services/other relevant experience.
  • Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
  • Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.

Most importantly you'll need to be confident, capable of providing appropriate challenge in complex structuring discussions and be able to work as part of a cohesive team. A high level of interpersonal skills and an understanding of other team members' roles and contribution will enhance your impact and reputation as well as increasing the quality and quantity of the final decision
