 About the team


The Senior Manager Risk sits within the Commercial, Performance and Strategy branch of the Infrastructure and Place division. This team is responsible for managing the risk of major infrastructure projects across NSW.



The opportunity


Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a number of Senior Risk Managers to ensure all project risks are proactively identified and mitigated.  


The role will include but not limited to:

  • Manage and champion the development and implementation of innovative Risk Management frameworks, strategies, action plans and risk strategies across the Infrastructure & Place Division, ensuring that they align with the Division’s business requirements and comply with NSW Government policies, standards, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Lead the provision of expert advice in relation to the risk and implementation of a consultative project specific risk based program for projects and work with project teams to raise awareness and develop maturity to support the development and delivery of Infrastructure & Place projects to drive performance outcomes.
  • Develop and implement the approach for quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis, including providing guidance and support to project teams in the quantitative determination of risks (inherent & contingent), as well as the use of quantitative risk analysis tools.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the risk management strategies, policies, processes, and tools on a regular basis against performance indicators and ensure continued improvement.

About you


You are a hands-on, collaborative and experienced risk professional with sound knowledge of project development and delivery requirements, and with knowledge and experience specifically related to project controls. You will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of stakeholders who have different and often divergent requirements and levels of expertise. A proven track record in managing project risk and experience with project risk management tools is essential to the success of this role
