As a Senior Manager, Risk & Control Enablement, you will ensure that new and changing processes are assessed, awareness is raised and risk mitigations are in place. You will achieve this through the effective design & implementation of controls to enable compliance and supporting the business through new and changing processes.

In this role you will partner with key stakeholders to deliver insights, utilising advanced analytical skills and complex data, which will allow the business to maximise profitable growth and internal customer satisfaction outcomes.

An advanced understanding of risk, cost levers and operations will ensure integration with business strategy. A focus on driving implementation of actionable insights.

The Enterprise services CCO teams advise and support the Enterprise Services businesses and business partners on Risk and Controls and change initiatives to deliver to deliver business outcomes within risk appetite.

In any given week you will

  • Lead risk deep dives and thematic reviews across the Group Operations, Payments and Performance portfolio.
  • Lead the monitoring and governance over key elements of the ORMF and CMF including the ES Risk Appetite Statement, KRIs, Emerging risks and reporting of outcomes to key governance forums.
  • Assist with uplifting risk capability across ES through targeted training and other activities, including supporting Risk Culture Plan activities.
  • Identify, lead and manage continuous improvement of the business control environment by using data to generate insights.
  • Work effectively with Line 1 and Line 2 colleagues to determine optimal course of action to remediate any significant data integrity issues
  • Contribute to a proactive risk and control culture and collaborate with the business
  • Drive key business decision making by delivering relevant and value added strategic and tactical analytics and reporting. Ensure insights are actioned.
  • Identify scope and manage projects based on required strategic outcome, available data and desired analytical approach. Prioritisation and management of workflow to ensure that project deadlines are adhered to and any issues are quickly escalated to relevant stakeholders
  • Using commercial acumen to translate analytics into meaningful business insight which can be translated into effective recommendation into decision making and business strategy.
  • Assist with Non-Financial Risk Committees and Issue Management Forums including co-ordination of papers, follow up of actions, agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Assist with 90 Day Plans and Workforce Planning
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to become a trusted advisor and maximise effectiveness of analytics services, embedding reporting and analytics in everyday business

  • Strong Operational Risk and Compliance experience
  • Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
  • Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems
  • Commercial aptitude and knowledge
  • Controls design experience
  • Facilitation skills
  • Vast experience in banking/financial services/other relevant experience, and/or deep experience in Operational Risk management roles and in Data Analytics.
