How will I help?
As a Senior Risk and Compliance Manager in the Insurance Line 2 Risk team , you will be responsible for providing practical risk and compliance advice, oversight and insights to the Life Insurance business of Westpac.
This role is 12 months fixed term contract.

- Provide risk and compliance advisory support to the Life Insurance business through conducting compliance assessments of incidents in a timely manner and escalate potentially reportable breaches in accordance with Westpac’s regulatory requirements and policies.
- Be a Trusted Advisor to the Life Insurance business supporting the strategic, product and regulatory change projects undertaken by the Life Insurance business to ensure the key risks and compliance obligations are identified and mitigated with effective controls.
- Play a leading role in identifying controls gaps or weaknesses and evaluating controls proposed by the business to manage their key risks and meet compliance obligations.
- Provide risk and compliance observations and relevant data inputs to assist with the drafting of key memos and reports to relevant Group stakeholders, providing key insights. Maintain a detailed understanding of the Life Insurance business’ specific risk and compliance issues; support identification, escalation and remediation of significant issues.

What do I need?
A successful candidate will bring 7 plus years risk management, compliance or regulatory experience coming from the Banking or Financial Services (ideally insurance) industry. You will have proven experience collaborating and influencing with divisional leaders and senior business stakeholders with prioritisation. You will have a strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and impacting the banking and financial services industry demonstrating management of implications and focusing on delivering outcomes. Competency with reporting writing and presentation of information, you will enjoy partnering with stakeholders as you strive to continually improve process.
