The Senior Regulatory and Governance Manager is accountable to establish and maintain a disciplined governance and regulatory compliance function across Integrated Energy Operations.

Reporting to the Head of Risk & Governance, your responsibilities in this role will include guiding operational Business Units in adopting a best practice approach to governance and compliance management, consistent with AGL’s governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Facilitate the implementation of policies, standards and systems across Integrated Energy Operations in accordance with AGL’s corporate and governance frameworks
  • Lead Integrated Energy Operations-wide compliance monitoring audits focused on assisting Business Units’ understanding of their compliance obligations and improving their compliance against regulatory requirements
  • Develop strong networks with key compliance personnel within Integrated Energy Operations Business Units and support them via training and mentoring
  • Facilitate best practices in compliance and governance management and assist in ensuring that operational and asset management strategies deal effectively with compliance obligations
  • Targeted reporting to stakeholder groups including; Integrated Energy, Executive Leadership Teams, Company Secretary – Group Risk Compliance Insurance, audit committees, external regulators and insurers
About You
What you will bring to the table:
  • Formal qualifications in one or more of: governance; internal audit; risk management; compliance; policies and procedures, law or business/accounting highly regarded
  • Significant and diverse Compliance / Risk Management experience; gained in a complex operational environment with multiple stakeholders (eg: energy & resources, or similar)
  • Sound understanding of Risk and Compliance Management frameworks/practices from working in other large companies (knowledge of ISO 31000 and ISO 19600 will be highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and professional judgments in reviewing compliance management frameworks and implementing improvements
  • Commercial management experience and sound commercial acumen
  • Previous demonstrated experience with risk and compliance management systems
