About VMIA
Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the people and projects that help Victorians thrive. We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.
We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.
We help our clients prepare for, prevent, or reduce the impact of harm. When things don't go to plan, we help clients restore services and recover quickly.

Your role
We've an opportunity for a highly experienced and engaged person to contribute to the Enterprise Risk Advisory team as Senior Risk Advisor.
We're looking for someone who will deliver high quality client service and lead a program of continuous improvement activity within the team.
You'll thrive in a dynamic and complex environment, working on concurrent deliverables and with multiple stakeholders.
As a Senior Risk Advisor, reporting into the Head of Enterprise Risk Advisory, you'll also have a key role in planning our future service offerings and supporting the team to deliver a wide variety of services to our clients.
Using your advanced interpersonal and influencing skills, you'll foster stakeholder relationships to deliver on our team's program of work.
You'll also draw on your experience and risk expertise to coach and mentor others.
Your skills centre on client engagement, knowledge of risk management and experience in bringing continuous improvement ideas to life.
How you'll make an impact
You'll:

* Develop trusted relationships through empathy and deliver strategic advisory services to clients.
* Identify new ways to connect clients to VMIA's wealth of expertise.
* Provide relationship management support to our agency clients and contribute to account management and client service plan processes.
* Provide insights into leading practice enterprise risk management that continuously improves our advice and service for clients, and act as a coach to build contemporary risk management capacity within the team.
* Deliver an end-to-end enterprise risk advisory service – including promoting the use of cyber and risk maturity benchmark tools, embedding the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework, facilitating workshops and other client engagements.
* Provide, and contribute to the development of, a suite of enterprise risk services, tools, and templates to support the ongoing improvement of enterprise risk maturity in our clients.
* Provide tactical support to the Head of Enterprise Risk Advisory through mentoring, support, and guidance to other team members, and representing the Head of Enterprise Risk Advisory in meetings or forums as required.
* Lead the design and delivery of services in partnership with the Service Development team.
* Support the design, implementation, and reporting on a quality assurance process for enterprise risk services.
* Actively monitor client feedback via formal and informal channels, and continually improve services.

Who you work with
As a Senior Risk Advisor, client engagement, facilitation and internal stakeholder relationships are a key aspect of this role.
Key stakeholders are:
Externally

* VMIA clients including Departments and agencies

Internally

* Risk Services Division, with particular emphasis on the Service Development team, and other areas across VMIA as required

About you

* You have a history of working at a senior level in the development and management of sector, portfolio, and client relationships, including the management of agreed service delivery programs and outcomes.
* You have advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including facilitation skills and writing for multiple audience, proven client relationship management experience and the ability to influence very senior stakeholders and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
* You have a deep risk-management knowledge and ability to recommend effective risk management solutions.
* You have successfully collaborated with professional people across multiple organisational levels and in environments undergoing constant change to achieve objectives.
* You have an appreciation of the complexities and nuances of public sector management, having operated successfully in such an environment before.
* You have strong influencing and coaching skills, and experience collaborating with people (team members, colleagues, and clients) to achieve outcomes.
