Job Description

Who we are
The Governance and Parliamentary Business branch is responsible for managing the workflow between the department and our five portfolio ministers, and providing them with practical support arrangements. A key deliverable is to establish and maintain strong relationships between ministers and their offices and the senior executive and the broader department. We also support our senior executive through the work of the portfolio coordination unit.

The Enterprise Risk Section is responsible for supporting the implementation of better practice governance and risk management in the department, including identifying and reporting on departmental risks, and providing support for risk management. The Section works with line areas on a variety of high-profile projects, programs and new policy proposals and provides advice on Comcover insurance matters. The Section supports the Chief Risk Officer with providing oversight of risk management across the Department and building a positive risk culture. The Chief Risk Officer reports to Executive Board on the department's enterprise risks and strategic risks.

The Job
The primary duties of the positions include, but are not limited to:
• researching, analysing and interpreting data from diverse sources to prepare high-quality briefs, reports, papers, presentations, and talking points that raise risk awareness and guide executive decision-making
• contributing to the development and implementation of targeted risk management communication, education, engagement and awareness initiatives that help embed a positive risk culture and drive better practice risk management
• contributing, supporting and participating in the department's risk forums
• developing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• providing Comcover insurance advice where necessary
• coordinating the department's enterprise risk management system, Planning Hub, and provide guidance to staff on use
• supporting business areas to develop and complete risk plans in Planning Hub
• contribute to and coordinate risk elements of the business planning and performance review process
• develop team goals, strategies and work plans
• undertaking any other tasks as required.
