A day in the life of a Risk Specialist

The Risk Specialist is required to provide effective management of operational, data and technology risks through risk identification, management, review, mitigation, and reporting.

You'll work with the team and business units Technology Operations & Resilience to ensure the risk management framework is brought to life.

A typical 1st line risk partnering role: overseeing the full risk life cycle; profiling, control identification, design & testing, root cause analysis, remediation actions in place. Ensure technology risk support is in line with group risk frameworks and group risk appetite tolerances.

Desired Experience to succeed in the role

  • 6-8 years in a Risk Management role within a highly regulated industry Financial Services preferred.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles within financial services is highly regarded.
  • Experience with typical 1st line duties; risk profiling, providing incident/event managements, ensuring compliance, conducing risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of the types of technology or data risks a large organisation faces.
  • Familiarity with technology/information security standards NISTor Cobit 5.
  • Tertiary qualification in a technology or risk management discipline is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong presence and articulate when dealing with stakeholders.
