Auriga Marine is currently seeking an experienced WHS Coordinator for a position working with our QA/HSE Manager in Darwin.

The Role:

You will be responsible for reporting compliance, monitor workforce improvements of safety, perform routine, random safety and quality inspections, produce internal and IMS and ISO audit reports to conduct auditing at site level and communicating pro-active initiatives to the worksites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety Performance Coordination – Coordinate the effective electronic interface between Auriga Marine managed vessels and approved load / unload worksites. Record essential data and ensure effective close out of matters identified by the Auriga Marine Integrated Management System (IMS).

WHS and Training Coordination – Actively meet client and Auriga Marine expectations by managing the delivery of all facets of safety awareness training as directed. Ensure that the appropriate level of training is provided to match the defined Auriga Marine safety performance standards with the expected level of training of our commercial clients.

Occurrence Investigation and Injury Management – Participate in the Auriga Marine investigation and reporting system, including timely client liaison, evaluation, analysis and resolution of all relevant factors, to ensure efficient and effective close out of occurrences. Attend to the management of injuries and associated claims under the direction of the QA/HSE Manager.

Safety Standards Maintenance – Produce audit reports relevant to work. Provide pragmatic and relevant safety information to the QA/HSE Manager and Auriga Marine General Manager.


  • Ability to deliver technical hands-on instructions.
  • Proven ability in constructing reports relating to safety statistics and occurrence investigations.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in using MS Office and WHS software programs.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially report writing. 
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in conducting audits to ISO 9001 standard.
  • Demonstrated experience in Claims and Injury Management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised.


Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of vessel operations.
  • Basic knowledge of AMSA and transport and logistics requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of WHS related regulatory bodies and legislative requirements.
  • Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety
