We are a Sydney CBD-based technology recruitment and contracting business. We require an experienced WHS professional looking for a flexible part-time role. Whilst the role would necessitate visiting Client sites, envisage that much of the role may be performed remotely

Position Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, the WHS Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the WHS management system for both our own business and that of our Clients, where we have contractors working onsite. This role is key to ensuring that WHS compliance, systems, and culture are implemented and maintained in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
The key duties of your Role include, but are not limited to:
  • Establishing and maintaining a company-wide WHS Management System compliant with relevant industry certification.
  • Work with Senior Management to ensure they are kept abreast of the risks and progression of WHS across the group.
  • Ensures that appropriate, compliant and easy-to-use procedures & templates are available for all staff
  • Ensure all on-hired staff enjoy a seamless and safe onboarding experience at their respective Client site.
  • Lead change management process to create a safety-first culture
  • Develop a WHS training needs matrix and obtain training records and evidence of competency.
  • Stay abreast of changing national regulations and standards
  • Perform WHS Client-site inspections where appropriate
  • Monitor Hazard, Incident and Non-conformance reports, carry out Investigations and propose Corrective Actions and Improvements.
  • Perform quarterly WHS audits and report as required.
  • Responsible for Document and Record Control.
  • Responsible for auditing and reporting on site safety performance.
  • Coach, train and mentor staff and contractors in WHS
Key Requirements:
  • 3 years + in a similar role, ideally in an SME environment.
  • Experience from the contracting/labour-hire sector highly regarded
  • Formal qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Highly organised problem solver with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to establish the framework, objectives and targets of the WHS management system
